The studio

Local councils and community groups are being asked to meet the same digital standards as big organisations, usually with one part-time clerk and no IT team. I make that part easy, so you can get back to the work that matters.

Services

Each one stands on its own or I can take care of all three.

Website design

Quiet, considered websites that residents can find their way around, on any device and with any assistive technology.

Built to WCAG 2.2 AA / Agendas and minutes made simple / Content moved from your old site / Hosting and care plans

Digital compliance

Everything the annual digital and data compliance question asks for, set up properly so your clerk can answer it with confidence.

.gov.uk domain / Council email for clerk and councillors / Accessibility statement / IT and data policy templates

Admin automation

The repetitive jobs that fill a clerk’s week, handed to simple tools that quietly get on with it.

Hall and allotment bookings / Forms that reach the right person / Automatic replies / Payment reminders

Ashbrook Parish Council

Parish council website and digital compliance

A village council with an outdated site, a clerk on personal email and an audit on the way. The new site puts the next meeting, agendas and reporting an issue one tap from the homepage, and sits on a .gov.uk domain with council email for every councillor.

Accessible design to WCAG 2.2 AA / .gov.uk domain and email / Accessibility statement and IT policy / Clerk training

Millfield Hall

Community hall website and booking system

Bookings used to arrive by phone, text and email, and one volunteer spent hours chasing confirmations. Now residents see live availability, pick a slot and pay online, while confirmations and reminders send themselves.

Thornmere Town Council

Market town council website

A busy market town whose council site was a wall of PDFs. The redesign leads with the town itself: what's on this weekend, a search that answers everyday questions and the council's work woven in alongside.

Search-first homepage / Events residents can submit / Report it, routed to the right authority

For parish and town councils

Your next audit asks about your website. Let's make the answer yes.

Councils now confirm each year that their website is accessible and their email sits on a council-owned domain. I handle the site, the .gov.uk email and the supporting policies in one go.

About

I'm Abi. Hello.

I founded Derica Solutions to give small organisations the kind of digital support usually reserved for big ones. I studied Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science, worked in IT at the Science Museum Group and now support nearly two hundred dental practices as technical coordinator for an AI reception platform.

I'm used to working with busy people who need technology to simply work. You'll always deal with me directly, from the first conversation to long after launch.
